Innovation challenge:
 Challenge where you have to create a product that will help either/or the mental health or physical health of an individual, then present about it to a panel of judges

• Discontinued! We have really enjoyed the process of Innovation Challenge, and we look forward to next year when we can maybe participate again! Thanks to all of the team members!
  

DEI :

• Have just begun regular meetings again! More news will be coming soon
  
• Hackathon: thanking sponsors, planning for the next Codeathon and discussing changes, working on how to contact sponsors
  
• New programs: currently brainstorming ideas! Will update with what we decide as well as progress
  
• Community school: working on communicating with the district’s Community School to see how we can make registering for Lake Monsters as well as other programs easier for people
  
• Recruitment: working on how to recruit more people for programs in the summer as well as in general for Lake Monsters in the fall! 
  

Other outreach:

• Social media team: working on making videos to post on YouTube(check out our new video! https://youtu.be/ZsCI0R7Z4pU ), thanking sponsors. Check out the link tree towards the bottom of the newsletter to check out our videos and social media! 
  
• Your Kitchen is A Lab(YKAL) and Bridging The STEM Gap: assembling bags/kits and food needed for these outreach projects. Organizing events for these projects for the remainder of the season and beyond
  
• Children’s book project: have finished creating a storyline and a guideline for visuals! Graphic design classes are currently working on creating the pictures needed for the book!
  
• Currently working on a link tree where people can see everything Lake Monsters has to offer! 
  

Other news: 

• Team is reviewing plans for the remainder of season and beyond, including summer plans
  
• Thanks to everyone who has been attending lab cleanups! With all of your efforts, we’re sure to have an amazing, clean lab prepared for the summer as well as next year!
